Our tour guide is name Fontaini Trianti and she was phenomenal! She had a lot of knowledge of the history of archaeological sites we visited. My son is 13 and he found her explanations were better than some of his teachers at school. Thank you Fonteini for the educational, interesting and inspiring experience you provided for him. She was also friendly, organized, approachable, flexible and knowledgeable. We also lucked out having less people on the tour than anticipated and this made it easier to connect with each other and we became a family in a short time. The itinerary was excellent. There was a good variety and right amount of things to see and do. Washroom breaks were provided and spread out nicely. Some of the feedback I would suggest would be the first hotel we stayed at in Athens which was Fresh Hotel not be such a small room. There was limited space to put luggage and walk. We are a family of 3. The second suggestion is that if the places where we eat have more of a variety throughout the 5 days. We ate the same foods for lunch and dinner everyday. Some people were tired of eating the same foods every meal.
Overall an excellent week-long tour. The only slightly disappointing part of the tour was Monday’s highlights of Thessaloniki. I was under the impression that it was a full day tour, while it was more of a half day. I think there were also missed opportunities to walk around and take pictures (Ladadika and Kamara Arch). The other days were excellent with wonderful tour guides and drivers. I would warn future travelers to consider taking a motion sickness pill before some excursions. There are definitely some twisty and turning roads that can be hard to unexperienced travelers.
Georgina our guide was excellent she had a wealth of knowledge with great English. She was approachable and very friendly, it was very hot during our tour so she was always looking for a shady spot for the group to take shelter in so she could talk in depth about what we were seeing and any relevant information was needed. Costos our driver was a safe driver and friendly also. I would definitely choose the 4 star accommodation we stayed at some lovely Hotels particularly the Amelia Hotel in Delphi. The Grand Meteora Hotel was a let down its staff the least friendly also they charge 7Euro to use the pool. The food on the tour was plentiful I would suggest you choose the Buffet at Olympia. Very good value for money we covered 1400kms in the 4 days after leaving Athens. We had 18 in our group for the first two tours but were joined by 38 people after our morning touring Delphi. They stayed on the tour to Meteora then back to Athens. It was crowded on the bus and the dynamics of the tour changed but I would still recommend taking the tour.
