We know how important hotels are on your trip. The hotels have been selected taking into consideration quality, price and location. They are located in the cities we visit, most of them not in the city center but all of them with easy access to public transportation nearby. Our accommodation is not based on luxury hotels. Please keep in mind that standards, bed sizes and room dimensions can vary between hotels of the same class in different locations. All rooms are equipped with private bathroom and TV. Some of them also offer a mini-bar, safe box, and hair dryer. Many hotels, mainly in North Europe, do not have air conditioning or local legislation establishes limited dates of use.

On some tours, according to the number of passengers, the service may be provided in bilingual (usually in English and Spanish), either accompanied by two tour leaders, one for each language, or a single tour leader for smaller groups explaining in both languages.

Highlights
    Itinerary

Day 1Athens, Aegina, Poros, Epidaurus, Nafplio

Welcome to your tour with Europamundo! Our journey is very special today. Greece has almost 6.000 islands, of which more than 100 are inhabited. Several ships connect the islands with the continent. We will depart from the hotel early in the morning to get the ferry that will take us to AEGYNA. The way takes a bit less than an hour. This island has been inhabited for more than 4.000 years. You will be able to walk around the picturesque harbor, the typical quarters of little houses and old churches, or go to the Greek temple of Apollo. We then will come back to take the ferry again and, after a 1:15 h journey, we will get to POROS island. You will have free time in this charming place, full of tourist life; its old houses climb up to the clock tower. Free time for walking around and lunch. After lunch, we will make a 15-minutes journey to Galatas, a small harbor in the Peloponnese. We then continue by road, across beautiful landscapes of hills, to EPIDAURUS. The admission is included, and there will be free time to visit its old theater which was built 2.400 years ago and has been excellently preserved. It still holds performances nowadays and has capacity for 14.000 people. We then continue to NAUPLIA, which is a charming coastal city dominated by the citadel and the Venetian fortress. Free time to walk around. Dinner included. Note: the schedules of the ferries are subject to change. During the low season months, the ferries between Aegyna and Poros may not operate. In this case, Aegyna island will be replaced by the Hydra Island.

    Day 2Nafplio, Tripoli, Olympia, Patras

We´ll journey across the mountains of the Peloponnese hinterland to Tripoli, the capital of the Arcadia region. There will be free time to explore Areos Square with its cafes and restaurants. Afterward, we´ll continue to Olympia, where we´ll visit the Archaeological Site (ticket and guided tour included). This is where the first Olympic Games were held in 776 BC, attracting athletes from across Greece and its colonies. The most impressive landmarks here include the Temple of Zeus, the Stadium, the Gymnasium, and the Arena. Our next destination will be Patras, Greece’s third-largest city. It´s a bustling port city overlooked by a medieval fortress, home to Greece´s largest cathedral, a significant pilgrimage site, along with the nearby old church of St. Andrew. Dinner will be included.

Day 3Patras, Nafpaktos, Mycenae, Corinth, Athens

After breakfast, we’ll cross the Rio-Antirrio bridge, a spectacular cable-stayed bridge that connects the Peloponnese with the Greek mainland. Our first stop is Nafpaktos, located on the Gulf of Corinth. Its Venetian fortress overlooking the city is a reminder of its historical significance as Lepanto, where the Christian and Turkish fleets clashed in battle—a conflict during which the famous Cervantes lost his arm. You’ll have free time to stroll around its picturesque harbor and explore the beautiful old town. Continuing along the Gulf of Corinth, we’ll reach Mycenae, a colossal citadel dating back to the 18th century BC, considered the cradle of European civilization (admission included). Enjoy free time for lunch and to explore the site. Next, we’ll visit the imposing Fortress of Acrocorinth (ticket included), where the remains of an ancient temple of Aphrodite stand on the highest point of the settlement. We’ll then continue our journey, making a brief stop at the Corinth Canal. We’ll arrive in Athens in the evening. The journey comes to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories. Please, check the time of your flight in case you might need an additional night.
