Beyond ancient ruins, lively neighborhoods like Plaka, Monastiraki, and Psiri beckon with narrow streets, traditional tavernas, and bustling markets. Day 5Inclusive tour Mykonos Island (guided tour)

This combo activity sweeps through the medieval town of Mykonos also known as the “chora”. Mykonos is famous for being a cosmopolitan island due to the lifestyle and the variety of visitors all around the world. Mykonos’ traditional way of life is dearly reflected within its city limits, inside which we offer an authentic walking tour throughout some often unappreciated sites by many of its visitors. We offer you an opportunity of a lifetime to experience first-hand the true beauty of the Mykonian town, by walking you through its history and re-living some of its memories.

The wonderful walk through the unknown alleys and the secret corners of Mykonos town, begins at 09.30 after you have been collected from your pick-up location (usually your hotel or the cruise-ship port). Our guide will accompany you and will share his knowledge and stories starting at the well-known location of the Archaeological museum and the Remezzo restaurant (where the entrance of the old town is), close to the old port, which is the starting point of the walking tour.

The adventurous part of this tour starts at 12:00 where you will arrive at the village of Ano Mera, pass through the picturesque square, and visit the monastery of Panagia Tourliani. We then continue by walking only 400 meters to the Mykonian Farm where we will be greeted by the Farm’s superintendent who will guide us through the territory, recounting the history of the places while showing us how the organic and the animal farming operates.

Later, while sitting and relaxing on a traditional stone built couch sipping raki we will learn the history of the island’s farming, its livestock and its crops. During the storytelling of the Mykonian Traditional farming habits, for anyone who is interested a Light Snack option is offered with special local products from the traditional farm (bread, tomatoes, kopanisti, cucumbers and poor man’s black olives, accompanied by the traditional raki)

Day 8Inclusive tour Santorini boat (guided tour)

The tour starts at 10:15 from Fira with a private bus. It takes you to the port of Athinios, you will board the boat and start our trip with destination the Volcano, a distance of about 15-20 minutes. Your stay there is for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. To walk up to the volcano to meet the active craters is about 20 minutes through a walkable path. It is worth reaching the top because when you arrive there, if you scratch the surface you will see steam coming out, smell the sulfur and also to take pictures. After the visit of Nea Kameni, the boat continues to the island of Palaia Kameni where the Hot Springs are located. The boat anchors a few meters outside the small bay of Agios Nikolaos, it lowers down a ladder in the water and from there you can swim a distance of about 20 meters to get to the famous mud baths of Palaia Kameni which are believed to have beneficial abilities for the skin and other diseases. The water temperature is 30-35 degrees but it constantly mixes with seawater. The boat remains here for about 30 minutes for swimming. It`s quite a time since there is no beach on the small island where you can stay for a while. In continuation of the tour, the boat sails to the island of Thirassia. You have 2 hours free time to swim in the crystal waters of Korfos or eating in traditional taverns with different dishes of the island. You can go on foot or by donkeys up to the village of Manolas, which is very picturesque with narrow streets and nice view to Santorini and worth a visit. After the 2 hour pleasant break on the island of Thirassia, we head towards Oia sailing near the volcanic cliffs of Oia to take pictures of the unique landscape. When we reach the port of Oia (Armeni) , you will have to walk up the stairs about 300 steps or by donkeys ( donkeys are at extra cost – payment on the spot 6 € per person ) At the village of Oia you will have free time to walk through the narrow streets, take pictures of the mesmerizing scenery and watch the famous sunset. Right after the sunset our bus will be waiting for you at the main parking space to return you back to the starting point.

Lack of communication on all tours. Having to go to a second company to answer all our questions instead of going directly to TourRadar. You should not source your services.

    Everything was excellent. The
hotels, excursions, transfers to every location and the customer service. Communication was very effective. I highly recommend Tourradar.

We enjoyed the experience but there were definitely a few mishaps which needed to be resolved. Positives were the day tours booked in Santorini and Mykonos, absolutely great days which were highlights of our trip. Two out of three of our hotels were different to the ones listed – which was fine, but one was a 3 star in Athens which was a bit disappointing given the name of the tour referring to 4 star hotels. Both hotels in Santorini and Mykonos were beautiful though. We did have issues with transport not being booked for the day tour included in Athens, and had to reach out to rectify this. I think this tour could be improved with more active communication from tour radar and a more detailed itinerary so where knew where to be for transport and when it was booked. We had to ask for a taxi to be booked for our Athens tour as the meet up spot was a 45 minute walk away and this wasn’t communicated to us earlier, but then the taxi never showed up due to road works. I understand things happen but we were never told by your radar about this and had to rush last minute to catch the train to our location once we realised the taxi wasn’t going to show. We also had no information about how to get our ferry tickets and had to ask for instructions. I did get in touch with tour radar and let them know about our disappointments and they did send us a nice bottle of wine and fruit platter afterwards, and we appreciated the sentiment. Overall it was a good tour, but the communication could be improved 🙂

I am convinced that Dot Travel Greece excessively priced this tour. The services offered are not commensurate with the amount I paid. When I raised this concern with the operator, rather than providing transparency, I encountered condescension with the response, “You were not obliged to book; it was a choice.”

I will never use them again.
